31% profit growth for Publicis Groupe in 2010
Paris-based Publicis Groupe, which owns Publicis, Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi and ZenithOptimedia, has announced a profit growth of 31% for 2010. The organisation’s full-year organic growth was 8.3%, with revenue just under USD7.4 billion.
The news should deliver a surge of optimism to the global production industry following the historic lows of the recession. Publicis Groupe is still seeking expansion. In the past few weeks it acquired UK agency Chemistry and in 2010 its acquisitions included agencies in Brazil, China and Romania.
Maurice Lévy, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Publicis Groupe, said: “Our financial situation is extremely robust and enables us to look ahead to the future with serenity. Investment will be aimed first and foremost at consolidating our two growth pillars: the digital sector in which we intend to strengthen our leadership position, and high-growth countries in which we must increase our presence even more rapidly.”
Publicis Groupe agencies won ‘Agency of the Year’ awards in 13 different countries through the course of 2010 and the group won two Grand Prix and 116 Lions at the 2010 Cannes Lions Festival.
