I am looking for a number of locations for a project. Ideally I would like to find a few in the same country to avoid flying to lots of different countries. The locations that I require are as follows:
Hot Desert (red/dark golden sands with Dunes) – could be paler sands so long as huge area, if there were any dry salt beds as well that would be good. Needs to be an area that we can shoot aerial shots from, and different types of desert would be good – ie dunes, flat areas of desert stretching for miles, dry cracked beds, occasional oasis etc.

Cold Desert – ie Glaciers, snow covered peaks and valleys etc – again would need to do aerial shots. I know that Iceland and Greenland at the right time of year offer plenty of this, however, I was wanting to tie together if possible two or three different types of location in one country.

    Any suggestions gratefully received.

New Zealand also has a wide variety of locations within a relatively contained area. We would be happy to email location photos or post them on the client area of our website. Please email william@bigpictures.co.nz

    Dear Quiche,

Please take a minute to look at some of the photos in our gallery section at:

    http://www.otrproductions.com

All these locations can be found in North India. The Hot Desert (red/dark golden sands with Dunes) can be found in Rajasthan including the dry salt beds and desert stretching for miles, dry cracked beds etc.

As for the Cold Desert – ie Glaciers, snow covered peaks and valleys etc – You can find this in Ladakh, North India. Ladakh is at the foothills of the himalayas and a spectacular location.

Feel free to get in touch with me directly at our Los Angeles office for further information: +1.310.403.1366.

Most of the locations you describe (if not all) can be found in Chile. At our site you’ll see examples of this diversity. Chile is a very film friendly country and our company specializes in servicing foreign productions. In fact the vast majority of images are from our scouts or taken during production.
