  • Looking to do low budget car chase on a hill in London.

    a) any recommendations on areas?

    b) Which boroughs are the most film friendly?

    c) any recommendations on film friendly scrap yards/more rugged industrial estates?

    Many thanks.

Hello Peter, you seem to need a London-based location manager for this advice as they will know the answers to all those questions. Check the Guild of Location Manager’s website for the membership list as something like this needs properly looking after. Street closures cost money and require something like 6 weeks notice, but this varies around the country. I am based near Bristol, very hilly and TTROs are much cheaper and quicker here!

    Hi there,

Its probably easiest to refer you to the link on our website here: http://filmlondon.org.uk/filming_in_london/planning_your_shoot/legal

Bascially it will come down in part to how far ahead you are planning this and avoiding the central London Borughs where possible? In some case it may be that you don’t need to get a road closure and be able to achieve what you want with traffic holds? Otherwise it is anything up to 12 weeks notice that is required. If you know which area is preferable – sepak directly with the relevant Borough Film Officer.

    I do hope this helpful,

    Best regards,

    Susie
