Looking for a wheat field that is Golden and ready to harvest the last week of July. I am also needed a Hispanic family, African American and a white family as cast. My client needs to shoot outside of the US to get around SAG. Our job is to film scenes for their video library. It is not a commercial. I will be bringing a director and DP from the states. My locations are: Wheat fields, 3 different home interiors. One is farm country. The others are urban and suburban. The campaign is global but the homes should have ab American feel to them. I can get more specific when you contact me. My e mail is alexcarone@mac.com

Hi Alex, Canada has wheat fields, but we do not harvest until end of August, if your dates get pushed you can contact me at – silver@treenorth.com – treehouse north productions
we handle shooting right across Canada. Plus we have great multi-cultural talent to offer as well. Karen Silver

    Dear Alex

You can find both locations and casting of what you’re looking for in Greece and July/Agust are the harvest months.

I attach some (not in harvest season though) picture references so you can get a feel.

As always nature locations should be scouted as close as possible to the shoot time, so if you think that Greece is in your range, let me know so we can set it up.

    Best Regards

In Australia, wheat is sown in the autumn, grown through winter and then harvested in spring. So there are definitely wheat fields in Australia but most of them wouldn’t be that high yet despite the favourable growing conditions the country has been experiencing.

There are millions of acres of wheat fields in Australia at the moment, but its not possible to pull them from file because farmers rotate their crops. Any wheatfields I have on file are probably barley, oats or maize this year.

I would need someone to do some research on how tall the crops are in various parts of Australia, and then scout accordingly.

    Hope this helps.

    Dear Alex,

We just shot last week in a wheat field near Sofia for L’Oreal, France.

In Bulgaria wheat crops are being harvested from mid July to beginning of August.

I am sending you a recent picture from the field (the green one) we shot in (the crops will be definitely golden by mid July) along with photos with ripe wheat from our database.

We know that it is difficult to alter the harvest schedule, and that it all depends on nature – so we would propose you fields in the different areas of the country where the harvest takes place with different timing.

As for the other locations, there is a number of residential complexes built in an American suburban style – even called US towns – around Sofia.

With regard to the casting, you may find them all in Sofia.

In case you consider Bulgaria for your project, I will send you the full pack of references.

Unfortunately Alex all I can do is help you with the elimination process, and you can count Australia (one of the world’s largest wheat producers) out.

Totally wrong time of year for us, even in such a huge country with so many different climates.

    Hi Alex,
Ukraine will be perfect location for you – starting from end of June and till mid August ripening wheat fields are like 60% of countryside views. I enclose some pics here and send you an email other references.
Casting and other locations will be smooth and easy here as well.
Look forward to hear from you!
