    Dear Malcom,

Cadiz is La Havana’s sister city. La Havana was built after the city plans of Cadiz. Many films have been shot there pretending it was Cuba (the last big one was James Bond – Die Another Day with Halle Berry.

colon, panama has a very old havana feel and stood in for bolivia and haiti in james bond’s “quantum of solace”. casco viejo in panama city also could also stand in for havana itself.

Hi Malcolm, here’s Mérida’s location references.
    All the best,
    Araceli

Hello Malcolm, we can cheat La Havana bay in Mexico.
    There are 2 options:
    1. Veracruz, Veracruz: located 415 kms from Mexico City.
    2. Mérida, Yucatán: located 1,300 kms from Mexico City.
I will post Veracruz references in this post and Mérida’s in the next one.

    Hello Malcolm,

we are based in Palma de Mallorca. We may not have the Malecon scene with the colorful buildings in the background, but the main port in Palma has a great dock that may work for the “long sea wall” you are after. If you are interested in further information or have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Kind regards, Dione

    Hello Malcolm,

we are based on the island of Gran Canaria. The Canary Islands and specially Gran Canaria have a lot of South and Middle America influence. We have huge harbor with old rusty fishing boats and beautiful streets with colorful houses.
If you are interested and needs more photos or have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
