  I am looking for a freelance video photographer in Chicago.
  It wil be shooting at convention coming in June. Photographer may has to be with union in order to shoot inside of McCormick place.
  I need half day and full day rate with sound man. I need asap.

  Hi Masato,

  I’m responding to your request for information from The Location Guide. We are a Full-Service Film & Television Production and Post-Production Studio. Headquartered in Chicago, we have been producing award winning content and helping companies communicate for over 27 years.

  We are union signatory and our staff are members of the unions required to shoot at McKormik Place- we work there all the time. I am assuming you need a full Camera & Audio Equipment package and not just the laobr, correct?

  Our Full Day (8 hours) Rate for Location HD Video/Audio Camera Package & 2-man Union Crew is $1,850
  1/2 Day (4 hours or less) is $1,550
  note: On half day shoots we discount the equipment package, however there is an 8 hour minimum for Union Labor on shoot days.

  Thanks so much for your interest in Product Productions. And we can certainly help you out with your project in McCormick Place. We work there quite often and are well aware of the union issues. But, I have a few questions before I can get you a quote-

  1. when you say photographer-are your shooting stills or video? If video, do you need us to provide all of the camera gear? If so, do you have a particular camera you like shooting with?(we can usually get any camera a client likes to use)
  2. for audio-what would we be recording? How many talent? etc
  3. As you can see from above questions, the more information you can give me about the project you’ll be filming at McCormick Place the better chance we have of giving you a reasonable estimate for this job. Please be as detail as possible
  4. There are no 1/2 days where union crew is concerned so 1 1/2 days will be quoted as a 2 day shoot. We have absolutely no leeway here because of union guidelines

  Hello,
  thank you for the inquiry for a union crew here in Chicago.
  We are the perfect company for your assignment as we have 5 staff crews and 20+ camera packages. Big Shoulders has been providing crews, editing and a studio for 17 years here in Chicago.
  We work with 15+ different foreign TV networks and broadcasters every year. We shoot at McCormick Place almost every week for a trade show or meeting. We know the building and people.
  A 2 man, HD crew will be $1,750 per day. Half days are not allowed by union rules but we can discount the gear for the 2nd day ($1,500). Our crew includes a full audio package with boom and our camera package includes an HD client monitor as well as full complement of lights including some Kino’s. No charge for parking either.
  I hope we can work with you on this and future assignments.
