  • Hello all,

I am a Line Producer in S. Korea.

For my upcoming project, I am looking for 1900 Paris.
As you guys know France is too expensive. So can you guys recommend any good location for 1900 Paris?

Where is substitute location for Europan filmmakers for 1900 Paris to save the budget?

    e-mail; producerjun@gmail.com

    Thanks:)

    Hi,

Film Polska Productions is based in Krakow, Poland. We think that maybe we would be able to help you but we need more details – what kind of locations you are looking for and how many of them? streets? squares? interiors? Do you have any references?

What’s the project? Is it commercial or feature film?

Let me know and I will try to suggest you some places.

it’s about 1900 Paris exposition. so the city has to be big and has cobblestone street and road. I don’t think they had paved road in 1900.

We will use a lot of CG to make 1900 but basically I need location which has atmosphere as these photos.

    Dear Jun,

I’m Abel Koves, producer at Future Films Budapest.
This beautiful city has been filmed several times as a substitute for big European cities like Paris. All Paris scenes of Spielberg’s Munich was shot here for example.
Also shooting costs are very favourable including locations and permits.
These are just quick samples I attach here but of course we could send you more specific location pics if you give us a brief what you are actually looking for.
Please contact me and send me more details of your project so we can discuss how we can be at your assistance,

Looking forward to hearing from you,

    Abel

    Dear Jun,

I think that Prague would be a great option, as we have substituted Paris many of times. We have cobbled streets and roads. Prague budgets are still reasonable. Email me and I will send you some reference photos and quotes.

    Hi Jun,

Prague would be an excellent option for your shoot. Prices here are way below what you would find in typical Western European cities, and certainly much less than Paris. Prague is substituted very often for Paris in films and commercials,

Why don’t you send me a more detailed description of what you are looking for, and I’ll send you some specific location photos and a price quote for film services.

    Cheers,

    Hi Jun,

Have a look to city of San Sebastián in Spain, its architecture has a french influence because of the fire the city suffers in the XIX century. Have a look to this file http://www.euskomedia.org/PDFAnlt/arte/23/23255265.pdf
And it is very close to France!

If you need some help, don´t hesitate to contact us.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Pieldo,
Montevideo-Uruguay may be a great option. Depending on you specific needs, you’d find Paris 1900 look alike locations, casting, wardrobe, props, and atmosphere.
I’m willing to help you if you send me to my Email more info.
    Best wishes,
    Daniel Alvarez.
