Jacaranda Films utilises idyllic Chilean locations for Booking.com commercials

South American production service company, Jacaranda Films, have shot their two latest commercials for Booking.com in Chile. Entitled Kindergarten and Driving Range, both spots were Directed by Jared Hess, with Damian Acevedo acting as DP.

The spots were made in collaboration with production company Community Films, and advertising agency, Deutsch. Rémi Noirel, Executive Producer of Jacaranda Films, details the shoots.

Kindergarten

“For this spot, we shot at Quintay Beach which is about an hour and 20 minutes from Santiago. We chose that location in part, because it allowed for easier crowd control. We shot on December 8th and 9th, which was a long summer weekend and we could still manage to keep the frame clear. The kindergarten itself was shot at Pumahue, and since summer vacation had already started we had no problem fitting it into our schedule.”

Driving Range

“The driving range we shot at Mapocho Golf Club. The only thing to keep in mind with Golf courses is that most of them will only allow you to shoot on a Monday, since that´s the day they are closed. Given that our shoot was only limited to the driving range and for a limited amount of time, they allowed us to shoot on a Friday.”

“The pool we shot at Noi Hotel. The only challenge there was that we were asked to be out before 10am. All in all, it was a really smooth production and both Community Films and the Agency where great to work with.”

With offices in Colombia, Argentina and Chile, Jacaranda Films has serviced content for clients such as Expedia and Hershey’s. The company serviced a spot for Yves Saint Laurent in 2016, shooting on location in Santiago City.

While Chile lacks a formal film incentive, the country’s production industry is stimulated by low cost rates on goods and services, making it a particularly appealing location for commercials productions.
