Søren Peter Langkjær Bojsen strikes gold at the Young Director Award 2017

Danish Director Søren Peter Langkjær Bojsen was the biggest winner at last night’s Young Director Award, scoring both the Special Jury Prize and a Gold Screen Award for his short film, Delphi.

YDA, Young Director Award, Ceremony, France, Cannes, Lions, Festival, Locations, News, Interviews, Short Film, Filming, Production, IndustryProduced by Bacon CPH, the film depicts the rise of two successful app developers who soon realise that their new-found fortune could come at the cost of their friendship.

The 2017 Jury President, Martin Werner (Founder of Bacon), noted the exceptional quality of this year’s entries and thanked everyone who participated in the process.

Sarah Clift’s, La Madre Buena, drew roars of laughter from the audience for depicting the trials of one mother to find a Donald Trump piñata for her son’s birthday. The film was serviced by Madrefoca.

In contrast, Ian Hunt Duffy’s haunting film about a father who loses his daughter amongst a traffic jam, entitled Gridlock (pictured), garnered a strong round of applause. Produced by Fail Safe Films, the project was shot on location in Kildare, Ireland.
