Woody Harrelson and Morgan Freeman film on location in Louisiana

Now You See Me, a crime drama featuring Woody Harrelson and Morgan Freeman, has become one of the latest features to use Louisiana’s filming incentive programme. The production shut down part of the Crescent City Connection, twin cantilever bridges that span the Mississippi River.

Bobby Cohen is a Producer on the film and spoke to local outlet WWLTV.com: “Obviously there is a huge financial incentive [for filming in Louisiana]; the scope of the movie (and) the scale of the movie is much larger than we ever would have been able to afford in New York or LA.”

Nearly 50 features and TV projects filmed in Louisiana throughout 2011, according to Film New Orleans. The figure is already almost 20 for 2012, so the state is likely to remain a national production hub along with New York and Los Angeles.
