Andy Weltman leaves British Film Commission to join Pinewood USA

Andy Weltman has left the British Film Commission (BFC) to become Executive Vice President of Pinewood USA in Los Angeles. Weltman spent four years as Executive Vice President of US Production with the BFC.

Adrian Wootton is Chief Executive of the BFC: “Andy’s contribution to the BFC has been phenomenal over the last four years. He has also done a sterling job working with our industry partners to help make the case to Government over the tax incentive for TV which was included in the UK’s budget last week.”

The BFC team has achieved great success and seen the UK's popularity as a film production centre soar. I am pleased to have been a part of that success and to have helped smooth the transition of the BFC to Film London.

Weltman comments: “While at the BFC I have had the honour of promoting one of the most outstanding territories for film production in the world. The BFC team has achieved great success and seen the UK's popularity as a film production centre soar. I am pleased to have been a part of that success and to have helped smooth the transition of the BFC to Film London.”

The past 18 months have been a period of change for the British filming industries, with the UK Film Council closed down, the BFC moving to Film London and the establishment of Creative England. In addition the UK’s filming tax credits have been extended, while the Government announced plans for a TV filming incentive last week.
