JJ Abrams TV series Revolution picks North Carolina as base camp

A new TV series from Lost co-creator JJ Abrams is setting up its base camp in Wilmington, North Carolina. Revolution is a dystopian drama series set 15 years after the world has lost all its electrical power. The project has been confirmed as Iron Man 3 starts filming in the state.

The show’s pilot was filmed in Georgia, but North Carolina has been chosen for the full season shoot. Around 125 local crew members will be hired and authorities are hoping Revolution will become the latest long-running TV project to benefit the state.

This region has always been identified with having the crew, talent, equipment and facilities to economically produce film and television product.

North Carolina offers a 25% tax credit and has seen its profile soar in recent months because of the huge success of The Hunger Games. Iron Man 3 is based at EUE/Screen Gem Studios.
