Jackie Robinson baseball drama wraps as Atlanta Film Studios’ first feature

Filming has wrapped on the first production to use Atlanta Film Studios Paulding County in Georgia. The feature, 42, tells the story of Jackie Robinson who was the first black player of the modern era signed by a Major League Baseball team when he joined the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947.

Jeremy Hariton is a partner in RoadTown Enterprises, which operates and manages the studios: “Welcoming 42 to the Atlanta Film Studios as our inaugural project was a thrill. Just to be associated with this production, which tells such a significant story in our nation’s history, is a great way to kick off our operations at the studio. We could not have asked for a better cast and crew to have at our facility.”

Atlanta Film Studios opened in early 2012 and offers two 20,000-foot sound stages, as well as mill and production space across an 11-acre site. Georgia recently extended its base 20% tax credit and has seen its national profile rise by hosting productions like The Walking Dead.
