Creative England launches new crew database at Elstree Studios
A new national crew database has been launched by Creative England at an event at Elstree Studios near London. Merging information from the Regional Screen Agency, the database is a free resource enabling productions to find crew anywhere in England outside London.
Creative England has been holding a series of networking events across England over the past few months that have been attended by more than 1,200 professionals from across the filming industries. The meetings have been part of the organisation’s continuing strategy to solidify filmmaking resources across England.
With these databases we’ll be able to help with everything from finding crew to hotels and facilities.
Kaye Elliott, Creative England
Kaye Elliott is Head of Location and Production Services for Creative England: “We’re all about encouraging TV and film production in the English regions, and with these databases we’ll be able to help with everything from finding crew to hotels and facilities.”
Creative England was set up in 2011 to replace the UK Film Council. More big-budget features are venturing outside London to film so the organisation’s effectiveness is likely to be tested as the UK’s international popularity grows.
