Pinewood Shepperton makes deal with Isle of Man and also adds studio space

Pinewood Shepperton has confirmed a development deal with the Isle of Man that involves the studios managing the Isle of Man Media Development Fund, worth GBP25 million. In a separate development additional studio space has been approved for the Pinewood facility near London.

The new studio facility will span 45,000 square feet and will include a sound stage. Its Board approval comes only six months after the official opening of the Richard Attenborough Stage and follows news of an investment in dedicated TV studios as well.

Ivan Dunleavy is Chief Executive of Pinewood Shepperton and spoke about the Isle of Man deal: “We are delighted to have successfully concluded discussions with the Isle of Man Treasury."

This agreement is a further example of extending the reach of the Pinewood brand.

He adds: “This agreement is a further example of extending the reach of the Pinewood brand and builds on the Company’s successful Pinewood Films initiative to play a bigger role in UK independent film and television production.”

Pinewood is very conscious of maintaining its global position as a state-of-the-art facility. It’s expected to announce an alternative to its previous ‘Project Pinewood’ expansion plan within the next few weeks.
