St Albans forms film-friendly agreement with Creative England
St Albans in Hertfordshire in the UK has made a film-friendly agreement with Creative England. The market town near London will promote new filming locations in the area, in partnership with Creative England's regional team at Hertfordshire’s Elstree Studios.
Hayley Armstrong is Creative England’s Production Liaison Manager for the East of England: “In 2009/10 location filming was worth an estimated GBP20 million to Hertfordshire and with studio space across the county booked for 2013, this trend is set to continue.
“St Albans has starred on the big and small screen many times over. We invite residents and businesses to consider taking advantage of the economic benefits filming can bring by registering their properties as potential locations on our database, and their skills and businesses on our crew and facilities pages.”
Creative England was set up in late 2011 to facilitate filming activities across England but outside London. The regional office at Elstree Studios recently launched a free crew database to help productions filming across the country.
