Nashville TV show commits to season run on location in Tennessee

New TV show Nashville has been commissioned for a full season and has committed to a Tennessee shoot. Filming will re-start in early 2013 and the production will spend about three additional months in the city of Nashville.

The ABC network ordered several episodes earlier this year and the production qualified for a filming incentive pay-out of USD7.5 million to shoot on location in Tennessee. Nashville is estimated to be spending some USD44 million locally and will employ around 250 crew on each shoot day, the Tennessean reports.

Peter Kurland is a business agent who represents TV workers in Tennessee and he spoke to the outlet: “It’s huge. It means that they (local crew) are going to be working after Christmas and well into the spring.”

Productions that spend more than USD200,000 locally are eligible for filming incentive support in Tennessee. Nashville tells the story of a middle-aged singer who teams with a teen star in a bid to resurrect her career.
