Wes Anderson filming The Grand Budapest Hotel with Studio Babelsberg producers
Filmmaker Wes Anderson is shooting his new feature The Grand Budapest Hotel on location in Germany. The cast includes Edward Norton, Tilda Swinton and Bill Murray, who all worked with the director on the Rhode Island shoot for Moonrise Kingdom.
“Principal photography will take place in Germany, mainly on location in the city of Görlitz and various parts of Saxony,” co-producer Studio Babelsberg commented: “The film will be subsidised by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg to the amount of EUR450,000.”
Studio Babelsberg celebrated its centenary in 2012 and recent high-profile Hollywood productions have included Cloud Atlas (also filmed partly in Glasgow) and Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.
