Ricky Gervais films on location in Broadstairs for comedy drama Derek
Comedian Ricky Gervais filmed on location in Broadstairs on the south-east coast of England for his new TV series. Gervais stars in Derek, a comedy-drama that he also wrote and directed, and which is set in a small UK care home.
“Broadstairs is a beautiful, unspoilt English seaside town,” Gervais told local outlet This is Kent during the shoot: “I'm delighted to be filming here after I fell for it on my first visit.”
The production filmed in the seaside town for two days in the summer of 2012 for the fourth episode in the series to be screened tonight (20th February 2013) in the UK on Channel 4.
Gervais is now involved with the Disney sequel The Muppets... Again! which recently started filming at Pinewood Studios.
