Pinewood Atlanta planned for US state of Georgia with joint venture agreement
Pinewood Studios is expanding to the US with a 40% stake in new production facility Pinewood Atlanta. The studio will be developed on 288 acres of land south of Atlanta, Georgia, through a joint venture agreement with independently-managed trust River’s Rock LLC.
“Today’s agreement is another step forward for the Pinewood brand internationally,” said Pinewood CEO Ivan Dunleavy: “This new studio will target US productions. Georgia has excellent fiscal incentives and a great crew base. With River’s Rock we have a well-resourced partner that is committed to building a first-class studio facility.”
“The Pinewood brand is so well recognised in the global film industry,” added River’s Rock Managing Partner Jim Pace: “Together there is a great opportunity to build an excellent facility that will attract the very best producers.”
Pinewood also recently signed a joint venture agreement with Seven Stars Media in China. In addition, its Malaysia facility is set to open within weeks and it is also involved with Pinewood Indomina Studios in the Dominican Republic.
