Tampa Bay pushes to host new Florida-set feature from Ben Affleck
Tampa Bay & Company in western Florida is pushing to host location filming for Ben Affleck’s next directing project following his success with Argo. Live by Night will be an adaptation of a Dennis Lehane novel that unfolds partly in Tampa Bay and nearby Ybor City.
"We have been working for the last few weeks or so on sending location photos for that production, specifically," Tampa Bay & Company’s Krista Soroka told Tampa Bay Times: "Obviously, with Dennis writing it for our destination, we've been sending photos to show them how that screenplay could come alive if they film it in our community."
The concern at the moment is that Florida’s filming incentive programme is short on funds and hasn’t been expanded for this year, which could prompt Affleck to look elsewhere for more viable locations.
