Fast & Furious franchise reaches out to fans for location filming ideas
The makers of the Fast & Furious action franchise have asked fans to suggest filming locations for the next movie. Fast & Furious 7 is scheduled for release in July 2014 and the filmmakers have used Facebook to ask for location filming ideas.
In the few days since the posting went up on the social media site, more than 20,000 comments have been offered. A general casting call for the new movie on Acting-Auditions.org says that Tokyo and Dubai have already been chosen as filming locations.
“Casting calls will be going out in Los Angeles for starring, co-starring and supporting roles,” the casting call states: “Additional casting for smaller speaking roles will take place in the shooting locations of Georgia and Louisiana. Shooting will also take place in Tokyo and Dubai.
“The extras will be cast near the locations where filming will take place. Principal photography commences September, 2013.”
Georgia and Louisiana offer generous filming incentives and are production hubs in the US. The Fast & Furious franchise got a box-office boost in 2011 by taking the fifth instalment to Brazil, while filming locations for Part 6 included London, Glasgow and Liverpool in the UK, as well as the Canary Islands.
