Entry deadline set for Ciclope International Festival of Craft 2013 in Berlin

The deadline for entries to this year’s Ciclope International Festival of Craft in Berlin has been set for 27 September. Ciclope specifically recognises the craft of storytelling in international commercial production and this will be its fourth edition. The Location Guide is a partner of the festival.

Around 800 delegates are expected at this year’s festival, which will run from 6-8 November. Speakers will include Rodrigo Gameiro, Creative Strategy Manager for Coca Cola Brazil, Sandrine Huijgen, Global Communications Manager for Heineken, and Pol Hoenderbroom, Executive Creative Director at AKQA Amsterdam and Berlin.

“It is really impressive to see the increasing interest in ‘craft’ over recent years,” commented Francisco Condorelli, Ciclope’s Founder and Director: “Importantly, that interest is not only coming from production companies, but also from agencies and clients, which means that finally the whole industry is realising its importance in the business.”

This year the festival has five new categories on the roster. Production Design will be recognised in the Live Action Section, while Website Design, Social Apps and Live Experience will be new additions to Digital. Finally, the Special Sections will now include a Titles Sequence award.

“We’re proud to be continuing our partnership with the Ciclope festival,” said Jean-Frédéric Garcia, Publishing Director at The Location Guide: “As the only event of its kind to specifically recognise achievements in production craft, the festival is doing great work in spotlighting a hugely significant part of the global production industry.”
