Cannes 2014: Film London and Ile de France Film Commission renew partnership

Film London and the Ile de France Film Commission have renewed their partnership agreement. The two organisations have pledged to work together for a fifth year and continue the city-to-city co-operation between London and Paris.

“I am delighted to be back in Cannes with our friends in the Ile de France Film Commission, renewing our fruitful and positive partnership for its fifth year,” said Adrian Wootton, Chief Executive of Film London and the British Film Commission.

“Over the past four years we have seen a great exchange of talent, as well as increasing opportunities for co-production which have invigorated our cities.”

Added Olivier-René Veillon, Executive Director of the Ile de France Film Commission: “I very much believe in the creative partnership between France and UK. Where better to focus that partnership than our two metropolises with their vivid creative scene and their highly international and connected frames?”

In October this year, a group of French producers will attend the Film London Production Finance Market. The following month, producers from each capital will visit the opposite city to encourage new co-productions.

Next January, a group of British post-production and visual effects experts will attend the ParisFX event, which is organised by the Ile de France Film Commission.

London has established itself as one of the world’s top production hubs. Star Wars: Episode VII is among the high-profile features shooting at Pinewood Studios in the coming months and the TV tax credit launched last year has already attracted dramas like the new 24 miniseries.

Paris is also a top European filming location and offers regional production support alongside France’s general Tax Rebate for International Productions (TRIP).
