Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul opens refurbished West London Film Studios

Aaron Paul, star of the hit crime drama Breaking Bad, has opened the refurbished West London Film Studios in Hayes, along with studio owner Frank Khalid. The facility offers 105,000 square feet of studio space, including six stages and office space.

“The UK has such a rich history in filmmaking, with some of the greatest films being shot here. I love shooting here and I’m delighted to support the opening of the West London Film Studios,” Paul commented.

West London Film Studios has focused on TV shoots in the past and currently hosts the BBC crime drama New Tricks and Channel 4’s sci-fi comedy drama Misfits. The refurbishment has been designed to appeal more directly to feature films and period drama The Imitation Game, telling the true story of legendary World War II English mathematician Alan Turing, has been a recent visitor.

A generous filming tax credit has helped turn the UK into one of the world’s top production hubs, with Star Wars: Episode VII among the high-profile productions currently in London. Marvel has also become a regular visitor to the capital, having shot Thor: The Dark World, Guardians of the Galaxy and now The Avengers: Age of Ultron in London.

I love shooting here and I’m delighted to support the opening of the West London Film Studios.

Aaron Paul co-stars in Ridley Scott’s upcoming biblical epic Exodus: Gods and Kings, which filmed partly at Pinewood Studios.

The UK is in fact now a direct location filming competitor to California, whose own production tax credit programme does not support big-budget features or TV drama series, prompting a long-term filming exodus.
