Rebolucion films medieval battle at Czech Republic castle for Visa Platinum
Rebolucion filmed on location at a 14th century castle near Prague in Czech Republic for a new campaign promoting Visa Platinum’s purchase insurance. The spot follows a soldier anxiously backing away from a medieval war for fear of damaging his prized uninsured shield.
“The commercial was shot at a real castle located in Točník, Czech Republic, 50 minutes away from Prague,” explain Mariana Fiordelice and Mariano Avellaneda, producers for Rebolucion.
“We were looking for a location to shoot an epic film, with great production value and including all the props and wardrobe we needed to achieve everything in the most cost-effective way. We researched several countries and cities, and Prague was the best option.”
The production team had to plan the shoot around the Easter holidays, which created some challenges with suppliers and crew, but otherwise the only other problems were patches of bad weather.
“Točník Castle was built during the reign of Václav IV in the 14th century so the location was real and we did not need to build anything else,” the producers add.
“Part of the commercial took place on the nearby fields surrounding the castle and we just needed to set dress with real props and period weapons like catapults, wooden fences and carts, lot of tents, all the location area, set dressing, wardrobe and props. It all looked amazing so it gave the real epic feel that we were looking for.”
The shoot was serviced by Bistro Films.
