Cannes Lions Soiree Partner 2015: Tenerife Film Commission
The Tenerife Film Commission has once again joined The Location Guide as a media partner at our Soiree fringe event during this year’s Cannes Lions festival. The commission has 15 years of experience supporting location filming from around the world.
“Cannes Lions is important for us as place to promote our filming locations because Tenerife is a great place to come and shoot outdoors throughout the whole year,” says the commission’s Concha Diaz Ferrer.
“We have competitive film incentives, an amazing diversity of locations, mild climate and our industry is growing very fast making commercial shoots on the island even easier. Tenerife is an opportunity for producers that shouldn’t be missed.”
Tenerife is the largest of the Spanish Canary Islands and has year-round warm weather averaging at 23 Degree Celsius. Producers can access a generous filming tax rebate of up to 35%, which has helped boost the profile of Tenerife and the broader Canary Islands.
Major international productions shot on the island in recent years have included Fast & Furious 6, the historical epics Clash of the Titans and Wrath of the Titans, and the BBC’s flagship drama series Doctor Who.
Some of Tenerife’s most striking filming locations include the volcanic landscapes of Teide National Park, the blend of modern and historical architecture and the numerous beaches and theme parks.
