Production wraps on Twin Peaks after Los Angeles location filming

The return of David Lynch’s cult drama Twin Peaks has finished filming after being shot on location in Los Angeles and Washington State. The production travelled to multiple locations within LA including Van Nuys and Silver Lake, later venturing out into the Mojave Desert. The Washington State portion of the shoot remained exclusively in Seattle.

Go For Locations, an LA based equipment rental company took to Twitter earlier this month to announce that production was soon coming to an end: “Twin Peaks is wrapping up its first 2 seasons filming on stage (studio)”.

Twin Peaks’ revival was initially believed to be a brief mini-series, but Go For Locations’ tweet has caused speculation that the show’s episode count has been extended.

First airing in 1990, Twin Peaks follows Special Agent Dale Cooper as he is called to a small American town to investigate the grisly murder of a teenage girl. The show lasted for two seasons and was later followed by a cinematic continuation of the story entitled Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me.

While the initial seasons of the show were filmed almost entirely in Washington State, this will mark the first time the series has spent an extended amount of time filming in Los Angeles.

California operates a lucrative incentives programme for productions, offering 20% in tax credits (with an additional 5% possible) to TV shows and 25% to those that relocate in their second season.

From April 21^st to 23^rd, LA will host the AFCI Locations and Global Finance Show which offers a chance for professionals from within the locations industry to come together and network on a global scale.
