AFCI launches brand new competition: The 2016 Creativity Awards
The Association of Film Commissioners International have launched a brand new competition for this year: The 2016 Creativity Awards. This announcement brings to an end the three year hiatus of AFCI’s previous ceremony, the Marketing Awards as the association rebrands to a more inclusive format. The Creativity Awards provides all AFCI members with an opportunity to showcase the very best of their marketing skills from the past 18 months.
AFCI Executive Director, Kevin Clark explains: “today’s global market presents challenges to all media content producers to maintain appeal and relevancy… this extends to AFCI Members as it’s become increasingly important for them to develop captivating creative tools to market their respective locations to appeal to content producers.”
The AFCI have partnered with The Audience Awards, a Montana based video content platform to bring the Creativity Awards to fruition. Their expertise will provide winners and contestants with a chance to market their work on a global scale.
The Creativity Awards will have seven main categories alongside the Best Overall Campaign award; these include Best Logo, Best Promotional Swag, Best Ad Design, Best 360 Experience, Best Video Reel, Best Website Design and Best Production Guide.
This year’s jury will include Marjorie Galas (Variety), Elliot Kotek (Beyond Cinema Magazine), Larry Laboe (NewFilmmakers), Ivana Massetti (Women Occupy Hollywood) and Kent Matsuoka (Locations Manager and Producer).
Submissions will be taken from August 1st to 19th, with the winner being announced the following month at AFCI’s Cineposium conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
