Production Algarve films commercial on location for KEYPRIVATE
Advertising Agency DoubleDouble have enlisted the help of the Service Company Production Algarve to shoot on location throughout the Portuguese region. The project is a commercial for Keytrade bank’s newest endeavour, KEYPRIVATE which aims to provide customers with a method of discreet banking.
The production travelled to a number of locations throughout the Algarve including Benamor Golf Course, a modern villa in the hills near Santa Catarina, the Loulé Olympic Swimming Pool, the streets of Tavira, hills close to Sao Bras and Faro Beach. Film permits were acquired with the help of the Loulé Film Office.
Joya Derrix, Service Producer at Production Algarve explains: “the commercial for DoubleDouble was quite a challenge. The job came in just four days before shooting and they needed seven locations, to be filmed at sunset and sunrise, so the light had to be perfect at the right moment and the locations needed to be close to each other because we only had three days of shooting. Besides that we needed a very special cast (about 10 models who needed skills like yoga, surfing, swimming, etc.) and a lot of styling. DoubleDouble brought their own crew and equipment.”
He continues: “because we had to film sunrise and prepare the set, make up and styling, we had a really early start every morning around six o’clock. The week of shooting happened to be the first week in December, the weather wasn't really perfect so the film crew had to adapt their script. They filmed with a crew of four people and the filming had to be done quick because the sunrise doesn't wait. Every day after shooting the sunrise we did a location recce to prepare the next shoot at sunset. DoubleDouble was very happy with our services and besides the weather, everything went smooth and perfectly.”
Production Algarve’s previous work includes spots for a number of high profile companies including MTV and Channel 4. The company also has experience in servicing music videos.
The Algarve was recently used for a major portion of Amazon’s upcoming motoring series The Grand Tour, starring Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May after their departure from BBC’s Top Gear.
Plans were announced in February 2016 to bring a tax credit incentive to Portugal later this year. Few details are known about the upcoming programme but it will be offered to productions that incur a minimum spend of EUR1 million.
