Benetone Films shoots in Thailand for latest Galantis music video
Production service company Benetone Films have shot their latest music video on location in Thailand for the Swedish electronic-duo Galantis. With offices based in Santa Monica, Krakow and Bangkok, Benetone’s worldwide reach has led the company to service a range of projects including commercials for Coca-Cola and Nestlé.
Regarding the shoot, Dwight Gerald Hijastro of Benetone Films explains: “we filmed the music video in the temple of Wat Tham Khao Noi of the popular province of Kanchanaburi in Thailand. The song is a perfect anthem for celebrating pure joy, humanity and creativity and we feel the extremely beautiful temple represents all of these. The location was quite different to many other temples as it is set at the foot of a small hill, offering a grander vista of the place rather than a flat temple and we feel it embodies the dynamics of the song.”
He continues: “one of the challenges during the production was to find 40 dancers on a limited time. Acclaimed and Grammy nominated choreographer, Noémie Lafrance worked with a local well-known choreographer for the music video. With only two days of rehearsal, we have to make sure the dancers are able to do the routines and formations smoothly in the middle of the heat and rain.”
Thailand has one of the largest production hubs in South-East Asia, receiving regular attention from international productions. In 2016 alone, Thailand has featured in Mechanic: Resurrection, Kickboxer: Vengeance, Gold and All I See Is You.
A cash rebate of up to 20% will be available in Thailand from 2017, allowing the country to compete directly with current tax rebate incentive offered by the neighbouring country of Malaysia.
Thailand Film Office will be attending FOCUS – the meeting place for international production in December. Register your attendance today for free.
