Film in Norway shoots Northern coastline for upcoming Volvo commercial

Production Company Film in Norway have shot their latest high-speed commercial for Volvo along the Northern coasts of Helgeland. Also known as the Golden Coast of Norway, the location was chosen for its idyllic combination of clear blue waters and towering mountains that include the historic Seven Sisters range.

The commercial stems from the advertising agency, Forsman & Bodenfors with the Swedish-based Edithouse Film Works providing post-production work for the piece.

Yandeh Khan of Film in Norway details the production: “I think the biggest challenge during the shoot was time, because we had to take different ferries to different locations. On the first day of shooting we had to make the last ferry that was set to departure at 11pm and we ended up at the dock almost 20 minutes later. We were lucky that the ferry waited on us, or we would not have gotten back to the hotel that night.”

This commercial marks the third collaboration between Film in Norway and Volvo, and is set to be released in March 2017. Other company credits include commercials for UNIQLO, Subaru and Widex.

A separate Volvo commercial recently shot on location in Scotland with the help of LS Productions. The Isle of Skye and Glen Etvie were used to cheat as Scandinavia.

While it lacks a branch that extends to commercials productions, Norway currently employs a competitive financial incentive programme on filming. A cash rebate of up to 25% can be acquired if a local spend of roughly USD240,000 is incurred. No more than USD7 million can be claimed per project.
