FOCUS returns to the Business Design Centre this December 6th & 7th
Europe’s only end of year event for the location and production industry, FOCUS, will be returning to London’s Business Design Centre for the 6th and 7th of December. Now in its second year, FOCUS 2016 boasts more content than ever before with free sessions on feature films, television programming, advertising and interactive content.
We have partnered with a number of industry leading organisations including the Advertising Producers Association, the BFI, the British Film Commission, Creative Skillset, PACT, the Production Guild, the Production Managers Association, UKIE and Women in Film and TV to provide content of the highest quality.
With over 100 high-profile speakers scheduled to appear, this year’s sessions will discuss the key topics concerning the production industry today such as sustainability, breaking into the Chinese market and the future of television in an era of convergence.
Over 160 organisations from 57 countries will be exhibiting at FOCUS, ensuring that attendees are in store for a truly global networking that spans all aspects of the production industry – an entirely unique business opportunity that simply cannot be missed.
Attendees can also expect to see a greater UK presence at the event as Film Offices UK, comprised of 11 different companies, will make their first public debut on the FOCUS show floor. The UK village exhibit will greet attendees upon entry, comprised entirely of UK-based companies ranging from film-friendly locations to regional agencies, including Creative England, Creative Scotland and Northern Ireland Screen.
The Location Guide’s FOCUS magazine will also be taking a UK spin with features that relate specifically to the current climate of the UK production industry and where you can find the country’s best locations.
With regards to international filming, China’s Wanda Studios will be at hand to discuss their new 40% tax rebate for shooting on their premises, while the newly established Arizona Film Commission will provide in-depth information into using their world-class infrastructure and iconic locations.
A total of three bars (LIMELITE Bar, Arizona – Sneaky Big Studios Bar and the FOCUS Lounge Bar) will be in operation on the show floor to provide attendees with a relaxed and comfortable environment for networking, not to mention the countless happy hours and fringe events to ensure that this is indeed a merry Christmas!
Adrian Wootton, Chief Executive of Film London will be opening this year’s iteration of FOCUS with an exclusive interview conducted by Variety, so be sure to arrive early to get the most out of the event. Attendance at FOCUS 2016 is free to everyone who registers prior to the event. We look forward to seeing you there!
