New Steven Spielberg TV series to be filmed in Queensland

A new TV series produced by Steven Spielberg will be filmed mostly in Queensland, Australia, at the Warner Roadshow Studios. The 13-part time-travel disaster drama Terra Nova will inject a significant proportion of its USD150 million budget into the local economy. In addition, the vast majority of the cast and crew will be locally hired.

Anna Bligh, Minister for the Arts in Queensland, said: “Fox Broadcasting has today confirmed Queensland as the location of choice for Terra Nova, which comes from the brilliant minds of Steven Spielberg and Peter Chernin and once again shows Queensland’s ability to attract first-rate productions to the state.”

Jim Sharp, Executive Vice-President of Production at 20th Century Fox Broadcasting, said: “Queensland had the right look, climate and terrain, a vibrant production community and attractive economic incentives.”

Spielberg’s big-budget World War II miniseries The Pacific also filmed in Australia.
