Florida launches new filming incentive scheme
Florida’s new filming incentive scheme becomes available from today in a bid to attract more productions to film in the state. The 2010/2011 Florida Film & Entertainment Industry Financial Incentive Programme will offer USD242 million in transferable tax credits over the next five years. Nearly USD55 million worth of this fund will be available for 2010/2011.
A transferable tax credit of up to 30% is available to productions across the audiovisual industry. This figure includes two potential bonuses of 5% for family-friendly content and off-season filming respectively.
