Dramatic increases in Taiwan filming incentives
In a bid to attract more international productions to film in Taiwan, the country’s Motion Pictures Department, part of the Government Information Office, has announced a series of substantial incentive rises.
Foreign films shooting in Taiwan with a Taiwanese crew will be eligible for an incentive of 25%, which marks a 10% increase on the previous figure, while the accommodation, insurance and transportation subsidy has been tripled to 15%. In addition there has been a doubling of the personnel expenses subsidy to 30%.
The subsidy scheme applies throughout Taiwan but there are also separate incentives available in each of the country’s three main cities of Kaohsiung, Taipei and Taichung.
