Cinecitta Studios to be 100% privately owned

The Italian government is selling its stake in Rome's Cinecitta Studios thereby completing the privatisation of the historic facilities.

The Ministry of Culture is auctioning its 24% stake in the studio's parent company, Cinecitta Holdings.

Hollywood classics such as Ben Hur and Quo Vadis were filmed there with more recent offerings including Spike Lee's Miracle at St Anna.
