Florida assesses impact of film industry

The second installment of the Florida Film and Entertainment Industry Economic Assessment has been released. The report states that the estimated economic impact of the Florida film and entertainment industry cluster grew from nearly USD27 billion in 2003 to USD29.2 billion in 2007.

The industry is currently responsible for over 207,000 jobs in the state, a 3.7% increase from 2003. The industry also generates nearly USD500 million in tax revenues annually, up an estimated 5.3% during the same time period last year.
