Ile de France hint at national incentive plan
The Ile de France Film Commission's presentation, held last week at the Sofitel Saint-James Hotel in London, was attended by over 50 key figures in the UK film industry.
The presentation, How to shoot a film in Ile de France, was well received and did a lot to change people's perceptions of filming in the region.
Representatives from France's National Monuments Center, The MInistry of Defence and the Paris Film Office also spoke and were on hand to answer questions about shooting.
Ile de France's little known EUR 14 million film fund was discussed as well as the new national incentive which is due to be launched at the start of 2009. It will be voted on by the French government in either late October or November and will most likely be a 20% tax rebate.
