Belgium

The combination of abundant historical settings, technically savvy crews and attractive national and regional filming incentives continue to make Belgium a filming hotspot in Europe.

The Flanders region is particularly proactive in supporting and promoting the industry with well-organised and helpful city film offices.

Filmmakers can access an extensive filmmaking infrastructure and a range of incentives including Belgium’s Tax Shelter programme, the Screen Flanders Fund and the VAF.

Besides locations, incentives and crews, you can find a number of high-ranking international compa- nies providing state-of-the-art equipment.

There’s varied architecture that can double for elsewhere in Europe, including Gothic buildings, cobbled streets, seaports and UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

From medieval Bruges to ultra-modern Antwerp architecture [and] from vibrant beach resorts to [the] tranquil ‘Nationaal Park Hoge Kempen’, Flanders not only offers a rich diversity of unique locations in Europe. What’s more, highly professional crews, state-of-the art film studios and VFX houses - and not least - a film office enthusiastic about great European cinema.
