Irish Film Board faces relatively minor 3.3% budget cut
The Irish Film Board (IFB) faces a 2011 budget reduction of a comparatively minor 3.3%, leaving it a total of EUR16 million. Given the scale of cuts across all sectors in the Irish industry, this is being viewed as a positive development.
James Morris, Chairman of the IFB, said: “The combination of ambitious creatively driven Irish projects and high profile international productions all working in Ireland in the last year is set to continue into the year ahead on the basis of today’s budget.”
Over the past year Ireland has seen the production of productions such as the high-profile TV series Camelot and Steven Soderbergh thriller Haywire.
