Tom Cruise praises Dubai after Mission: Impossible shoot
The Dubai leg of the shoot for Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol has finished and Tom Cruise has written a thank you letter to the country and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed.
Writing on his official website, Cruise said: “We were given a very unique opportunity to shoot in a location that has, up to this point, not been featured on film. I shot in many locations around the country including many exhilarating days filming scenes in IMAX on the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.
“We could not have accomplished all that we needed to get done without the hard work and dedication of our Dubai and Prague crews. It was a great pleasure working with all of you; you did a fantastic job!”
In recent years several major Hollywood productions have decided against shooting in Dubai as the country offers no formal incentive schemes. The new Mission: Impossible film has already filmed scenes in Prague and is now shooting in Vancouver.
