Ridley Scott starts alien feature Prometheus at Pinewood Studios and Iron Lady wraps
Ridley Scott’s new science fiction feature Prometheus is now filming at Pinewood Studios with a cast that includes Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace. Meanwhile, Margaret Thatcher biopic The Iron Lady has just wrapped.
Discussing Pinewood and Shepperton, Scott said: “It’s my heritage, my personal heritage. I film everywhere in the world and I think all things considered what we have to offer here is as good as anything you’re going to get in Hollywood.”
Shooting at Pinewood Studios was an immensely enjoyable experience – the service and facilities made available to us were first class and we look forward to returning for our next production.

Damian Jones, Producer of The Iron Lady, said: “Shooting at Pinewood Studios was an immensely enjoyable experience – the service and facilities made available to us were first class and we look forward to returning for our next production.”
Prometheus was originally developed as a prequel to Scott’s own Alien, itself filmed at Pinewood in the 1970s. It’s now described as an original science fiction feature that’s merely set in the same universe. The Iron Lady stars Meryl Streep and is set largely in the build-up to the war in the Falklands.
