AFCI welcomes its new Chairman and Board of Directors
The Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) have elected their new Chairman, Kevin Jennings alongside implementing four new officers to the Board of Directors. Prior to this election, Jennings has held the position of Executive Manager of Film Otago Southland, New Zealand and has worked on major productions including The Hobbit Trilogy, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
The new Board of Directors includes: Nick Maniatis (New Mexico Film Office) as First Vice-Chairman, Sigmund Elias Holm (Western Norway Film Commission) as Second Vice-Chairman, Walea Constantinau (Honolulu Film Office) as Treasurer, and Pam Haynes (West Virginia Film Office) as Secretary.
Chairman Jennings details: “it’s an honour to be in a position of servant leadership with AFCI and to continue serving the needs of the TV and Film industry on-location internationally as we have for the past 40 years… as the leading resource on the planet for location shooting our members represent the best of the best in trained and knowledgeable film commission professionals around the world.”
The AFCI has been in operation since 1975, and since its inception it has brought together industry professionals from film commissions all over the world. As one of his first acts as Chairman, Jennings announced that AFCI’s annual Locations & Global Finance Show will be held at the Marriott Burbank in Los Angeles, from Thursday, April 21st to Saturday, April 23rd 2016.
Jennings adds: “our Locations Show event has been around for more than 30 years and it’s an opportunity for our members to exhibit their locations, promote their infrastructure and the billions of dollars incentives that are available to the TV and film production industry.”
Now in its 41st year, the Locations & Global Finance Show is the only major conference to bring together the location and finance industries, providing essential opportunities and information for anyone working in preproduction.
