Alberta Culture Minister due in Los Angeles to promote location filming

The Culture Minister for Alberta, Canada, will be spending most of next week in Los Angeles promoting Alberta as a filming location. Lindsay Blackett will be meeting with independent Producers and some of the major Hollywood studios between January 17th and 20th.

Blackett said: “Alberta has a lot to offer. Not only do we have stunning and diverse locations, as well as competitive production incentives, but our crews are some of the best and most experienced in the world. It’s important we continue to keep Alberta top-of-mind with US film and television makers.”

The province has the Alberta Film Development Programme, which provides a grant against eligible production expenses. This can be worth up to 29% of eligible expenses with a cap of CAD5 million per project. Local crews have been nominated for 48 Academy Awards since 1948.
