Apollo Productions launched to boost UK location filming
Apollo Productions has been launched in the UK as a production service company designed to draw more Producers to Britain. Steve Norris, former British Commissioner at the UK Film Council, has joined forces with Pinewood Studios and Framestore to launch the company.
Norris said: “With the global landscape for film and media production in constant flux, I wanted to create a production services vehicle for international filmmakers that brought together the very best of the UK’s expertise to make the UK easily accessible. We’ve become a base of choice for big-budget films and we want Apollo Productions to help productions of all sizes and budgets access the UK’s talent pool and locations.”
The company will primarily target independent Producers and will help with everything from UK tax credits and co-production rules through to the UK cultural test. It will also offer an easy way to access UK crews. Pinewood Studios has recently expanded its presence to Malaysia, Canada and Germany, while Framestore has 20 years of experience in visual effects.
