Australian film industry to reach out to US market in week-long Ausfilm event
Australia’s film industry organisation Ausfilm is preparing for a week of promotion in Los Angeles. Between 24th and 31st October 2012, Ausfilm Week will focus on encouraging US producers to develop projects to be filmed on location in Australia.
Ausfilm states: “The event will comprise a series of interactive panel sessions highlighting Australia’s production incentives schemes, post-production and filmmaking talent, networking experiences, producer collaboration meetings and learning opportunities between the Australian and US film industries.”
Representatives from 17 Australian production companies will be in Los Angeles for the week and Ausfilm will also be at the American Film Market in early November. Australia is having difficulty attracting major international productions due to its strong dollar and fierce filming incentive competition from around the world.
