Aleksandra Bosnjak may be new to the producing scene, having just established her very own production company (Adriatica Films) in October, but she has her sights set high particularly with regards to the cinematic potential of Montenegro.
The BBC’s Death in Paradise will return this Thursday but with a new setting, foregoing the landscapes of Guadeloupe for London in a new two-part series premiere. During production, filming took place at the Bleeding Heart Bistro in Camden and on Aquinas Street in Lambeth.
Based on the short-lived political career of Hunter S. Thompson, Bobby Kennedy III’s directorial debut Freak Power has received a rebate of USD300,000 to shoot in Colorado. The production will be scouting a number of local towns to double for 1970s Aspen, such as Silverton, Durango, Leadville and Gunnison.
Production service company Flatpack Films, in collaboration with Keystone Paris, have shot their latest commercial for Hyundai’s Genesis G80 outside of the Hungarian State Opera House in Budapest. The spot is noteworthy for keeping the car stationary throughout, highlighting its design as opposed to its speed.
The long-awaited fourth season of BBC’s Sherlock returned to London earlier this year, using a multitude of locations throughout the city for its season premiere. Despite usually being filmed in London, Sherlock took a brief detour to Bristol and The Bottle Yard Studios last year for its Christmas special.
Andi Mack, a new children’s TV series from Terri Minsky, has shot on location on Main Street, Magna. Scheduled to air in 2017 on the Disney Channel, the production changed the quiet Main Street into a busy hangout for local youth.
James Wan’s Aquaman will now be filmed in Australia’s Gold Coast, after an unspecified incentive deal was reached between Warner Bros. and the Queensland Government. The production is expected to bring in a local spend of AUS100 million, creating at least 600 new jobs in the process.
It may be set in London but the upcoming BBC adaptation of Agatha Christie’s The Witness for the Prosecution was filmed entirely in Northern England.
