Netflix’s upcoming drama series Ozarks will begin filming today at the former Little River Grill restaurant by Lake Allatoona, Georgia. The once closed restaurant has now been purchased by Netflix to be used in the show which stars Jason Bateman (Arrested Development) and Laura Linney (Sully).
Terry Gilliam’s long awaited film, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote has now entered into production with shoots taking place in Lisbon and Tomar. Scenes will also be filmed in Castilla-La Mancha and the Canary Islands.
In an effort to encourage the work of new Producers, Creative England has unveiled two new programmes targeted at those outside of London who are entering the profession. The two programmes entitled Producer Hothouse and Creative Producer Initiative are only available to Producers with no more than one production credit under their belts.
The BBC’s new period drama The Moonstone, starring John Thomson (Cold Feet) and Sarah Hadland (Miranda) has begun filming in North Yorkshire. The production will be conducting on location shoots at Thornton Watlass Hall, a Grade I listed Georgian country house that will serve the show’s 19th century period setting.
Louisiana’s tax credit incentive has been depleted for this financial year, after the programme had its funding cut from USD222 million to USD180 million. The scheme was slashed last year by ex-Governor Bobby Jindal in an effort to curb Government spending, which has now failed to compensate for the state’s popularity.
A proposal to bring a new form of film incentives into the state of Indiana will be presented in the next legislative season. The state has been without such a programme since 2012 but if accepted, the legislation could offer a 30% tax break on locally incurred expenses for productions with budgets over USD500,000.
A new report to be submitted to Liverpool’s Culture and Tourism select committee in August will show an incredible 50% increase in the number of films shooting on location in the Northern City throughout 2015. The statistics show a presence of 257 productions during the year that equated to 1,067 filming days, injecting GBP11.5 million into the local economy.
ABC’s family-comedy Fresh Off the Boat will film parts of its third season on location in Taiwan. Specific locations have yet to be chosen as Location Scouts are still conducting research but the shoot is expected to run for three days. The show stars Randall Park (Veep), Constance Wu (Parallels) and Hudson Yang (The Sisterhood of Night).
