Additional incentives or advantages | - - There are no formal incentive programmes in place at present. Significant projects will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
To encourage international filmmakers to film in Taiwan, films partly or completely shot in Taiwan, or 2D or 3D animations over 70 minutes long produced in Taiwan, besides substantial human and technical supports, the Government of Information Office (GIO) also provides various incentives and subsidies.
1. Human Resources: 30% of total personnel expenses for Taiwanese nationals as casts and 30% of total personal expenses for Taiwanese nationals as crew.
2. Production: 25% of total costs for pre-production (planning, R&D, fundraising, etc.), post production (recording, editing, special effects, sound effects, printing, etc.), and computer graphics.
To be eligible to apply for the incentives and subsidies, working with local film production agency is a requirement.
Taipei Film Commission offers free consultation for location scouting, co-production with local team, filming equipments and post-production and issues Production Concessionary Card (PCC) to production teams filming in Taipei. With PCC, production teams can enjoy benefits of the 4%~5% discounts in accommodations, restaurants, car-rental, laundry service, etc.
